The Benefits of Wii MotionPlus And How The Peripheral Works

Not long after finalizing and producing the original Wii remote and Nunchuk, Nintendo began production on the Wii MotionPlus gadget. Whilst the original remotes offered abreakthrough in interactive gaming technology, Nintendo soon realized it could be refined even further. The producers drafted in technical giants AiLive to make the optional add on.

Wii MotionPlus is used to translate accuracy to an increasingly refined degree by implementing a dual-axis angular sensor, which reads changes via both kinetic action and depth perception. Therefore, more distinct movements and gestures are captured and interpreted by the software.

The device can be attached to the current Wii remote using a special External Extension connector, showing the Wii motionPlus can be removed or affixed depending on which game is being played. The feature isn’t compatible with every game in the backcatalogue, and cannot be used in association with other peripherals like the Wii Wheel. However, for the titles that do support the feature, the difference is inspiring, with a degree of accuracy verging on faultless.

The list of Wii MotionPlus friendly titles is quickly increasing, and it’s brilliant to see the heightened potential of the Wii system being realised. The technology continues to lead the way to a future of cutting edge gaming which smashes typical boundaries- literally transfering gamers into the game!
